Terminata la visita ad Hiroshima e Miyajima, è tempo di passare alla prossima tappa: Osaka! Un atmosfera e un numero di turisti decisamente diverso, rispetto alla calma e alla serenità della cittadina del sud-est dell'isola principale del Giappone, quello che abbiamo trovato nella città che ospita l'Expo 2025. A causa appunto di questo, abbiamo deciso di visitare Osaka in giornata senza restarci più di una giornata e ci siamo concentrati principalmente sull'esplorazione della Dotonbori e dei quartieri adiacenti. 

After visiting Hiroshima and Miyajima, it was time to move on to the next stop: Osaka! The atmosphere and the number of tourists were definitely different compared to the calm and serenity of the town in the southeast of Japan's main island—quite a contrast to what we found in the city that will host Expo 2025. Because of this, we decided to visit Osaka just for the day and focused mainly on exploring Dotonbori and the surrounding neighborhoods.

Dopo la grande metropoli di Tokyo ci spostiamo verso Kyoto. La tappa nella vecchia capitale dura però giusto il tempo di una notte: il giorno dopo siamo infatti già in direzione Hiroshima a bordo di un treno completamente brandizzato Hello Kitty. La visita al museo e al parco in memoria delle vittime dell'esplosione della bomba atomica a fine seconda guerra mondiale lascia il segno ma quello che verrà raccontata in questo articolo sarà solamente la gita sull'isola di Miyajima.

After the bustling metropolis of Tokyo, we head to Kyoto. However, our stay in the former capital lasts just one night: the next day we’re already on our way to Hiroshima on a fully branded Hello Kitty train. Visiting the museum and the park commemorating the victims of the atomic bombing at the end of World War II leaves a deep impression, but this article will focus solely on the trip to Miyajima Island.

3 Maggio 2025, mezzogiorno è passato da poco e la mia prima visita in Giappone ha finalmente inizio! Con me 3 super compagni d'avventura: Valeria, Davide e Stefania. Quattro persone, due coppie,  che dopo mesi e mesi passati a ritrovarsi di continuo per organizzare il viaggio, si ritrovano dall'altra parte del mondo in un paese distante anni luce geograficamente e culturalmente da quello della vita di tutti i giorni. La prima tappa di questi sedici giorni non poteva che essere Tokyo, la metropoli più grande al mondo: dopo aver giusto appoggiato le valigie in hotel, usciamo subito in direzione Sensō-ji.

May the 3rd 2025, just past noon and my first visit to Japan is finally beginning! With me are my three amazing travel companions: Valeria, Davide, and Stefania. Four people, two couples, who after months and months of getting together to organize the trip, now find themselves on the other side of the world, in a country that feels lightyears away both geographically and culturally from the life we know. The first stop of this sixteen-day adventure could only be Tokyo, the largest metropolis in the world. After dropping off our luggage at the hotel, we immediately head towards Sensō-ji.
